Music Festival A Touch of Czech Music

The International Music Festival ‘A Touch of Czech Music’ has become the greatest classical music festival held in Prague in winter and at the beginning of the New Year. This festival aims to offer Prague concertgoers high quality orchestral, chamber and recital works at Advent, Christmas, New Year and Epiphany concerts. It includes thematic lines of Crossover, Old Music, Christmas Prague Music, The Gems of Russian Music and a cycle entitled ‘Premature Passings’ which presents the brilliant characters of Czech music and literature. The festival each year puts on world or Prague premieres. It also seeks to bring attention to the history and architecture of the premises where it is held as an inseparable part of its presentation of Prague’s culture (Municipal House, Rudolfinum, Prague castle – Spanish Hall or Rudolph Gallery, Convent of St Agnes, Liechtenstein Palace, Klementinum, Strahov Monastery – National Literary Archive, National Museum, Church of St Nicholas, Church of St Saviour, Stone Bell House, Clam-Gallas Palace and others), following Prague’s presentation as the dominant capital city in Central Europe. The festival is held in cooperation with the Capital of Prague and Municipality of Prague 1, supported by the Ministry of Culture, and is a member of the Association of Music Festivals of the Czech Republic.
