Czech Association of Music Festivals

This festival was established by A. Kazil and J. Pomeje in 1990 in occasion of celebration of our most famous songstress who subjugate all cultural world by her singing. She was rejected only in Bohemia. Emmy Destinn moved to South Bohemia to spend her last 15 years there. She died in České Budějovice in 1930. Her persecution went on during all former regimes. Therefore this music festival tries to pay her back such a longtime lasting moral debt.

The Festival office of Emmy Destinn, that organizes this festival, aims to acquire first-class local and foreign artists to ensure high quality of all concerts. The only requirement is that at least one singer who performed in the same opera house where Emmy Destinn celebrated her greatest successes has to participate on the last Opera gala concert in honour of Emmy Destinn.

Due to the fact that these projects are very money wise demanding we wouldn’t be able to realize them without our sponsors whose support we appreciate a lot.
